How to Eat Really Good Food and Still Lose Weight

Snacking on lettuce leafs and rice cake paddies is no way to diet. You absolutely don't have to eat bland and boring foods to lose a little or even a lot of weight. With what we know today it is not only possible but a responsibility to eat great foods while losing weight. So what's the catch you say? No catch. Just use common sense and have a willingness to try new things that will allow you to enjoy your food and shed the pounds.

Be Fresh

You cannot expect to lose any permanent weight if the foods you use to prepare your meals are stuffed with calories, bad fat and chemicals. Processed foods are also a culprit in the battle against weight loss. Avoid them at all costs. Stick with fresh ingredients. You can never go wrong with fresh ingredients. Avoid anything that comes in a box, is canned, or in a jug. These products are processed and have no place in your healthy diet plan. Be fresh!

Be Wise

Foods that should be included in your healthy meal plan include fresh fish, fresh herbs, fresh fruits and veggies, organic eggs and organic meats. Although this is not an exhaustive list, it is a very good start. Here's the point. There are so many healthy and tasty choices that there shouldn't be any excuse for not eating delicious while losing weight permanently. When you look at it this way the phrase "weight management" should not cause you to have a nervous breakdown. It can be fun if you experiment and forget about all the rules you learned from all those fad diets you've tried. Natural foods are good for you because they are filled with nutrients and low on calories. Also, natural foods are not saturated with additives and chemicals which are a key contributor to weight gain, cancer, diabetes, hypertension and many other health problems. Choose your foods wisely!

Be Bold

Try experimenting with new recipes. Skim through cookbooks (hard cover or online), and use your creative juices to come up with mouth-watering meals you can't wait to sink your teeth into. Free yourself from the old ways of planning and preparing your meals. Replace unhealthy ingredients with healthier choices. For example if a recipe calls for milk, you can substitute this ingredient for coconut milk, (yes coconut milk is healthy), or almond milk. Do the same with seasonings and spices. Add new flavors to your dishes.

You can also try changing your cooking style. This keeps things fresh and interesting. For example If you sauté your steak, try grilling it with a healthy dose of olive oil or broiling it. As you see all these methods are easy and simple to master. You never need to get complicated to lose or manage you weight. Be bold!

Be Consistent

Don't give up. Whatever you do just keep at this and you will begin to observe two things.

1- As you progress you will not understand how you were ever able to eat the foods you ate.

2- Your body will begin to reject unhealthy foods because it will feel unpleasant to you.

The thing is your body will not want to go back to your old ways. When you are consistent with your new way of planning and eating you will wonder how you ever ate certain foods that now may seem a bit disgusting. Your body is telling you it was meant to be this way and it is happy to be back on track. Do this and your body will become more efficient at burning fat. Your desire for permanent weight loss is based on your willingness to experiment and be creative. Over time your body will take over and you'll never turn back. Be consistent!

How To Lose 10 Pounds Fast!

Is there a special occasion coming up in your life? Is there a wedding, getting together with old friends, party or special event? Have you noticed the extra pounds creeping up on you over the last few years and hardly fit into your favourite jeans? You might be one of the many people who are looking to lose 10 pounds quickly.

Losing just ten pounds quickly is actually much simpler than you might think. You can easily accomplish that in as little as 5 - 10 days. I would like to give you three ways that will make your weight loss of 10 pounds very easy and fast!

1. Completely get rid your diet of refined sugar for 1 - 2 weeks. That means no sugar in your coffee or tea, no sodas and no more doughnuts, cookies or cakes. Cutting the white sugar out for a few weeks might be the one thing that works for you.

If alleviating sugar alone does not help with losing that unwanted 10 pounds of weight, then cut out carbs too! Especially the simple carbs or white carbs like flour, white bread, and noodles that turn into sugar. Carbohydrates such as these hold onto body fat and weight. Decreasing your carb intake for a few weeks will help you to drop 10 pounds fast in as little as a week.

The way your body responds and the amount you have decreased your intake will really be the determining factor on how much weight will be lost. Everyone's body is different. 120 grams of carbs per day might work for someone, while another person may have to keep theirs around 50 grams to achieve the same results. No matter what, reducing carbs for a short period of time will likely get you to lose 10 pounds quickly.

2. Fasting is another popular way to lose 10 pounds quickly. There are juice and vegetable fasts available but the juice fast works best since there is no digestion or food processing needed.

One important factor is to choose a juice that is low in sugar. The easiest way to accomplish this is by drinking freshly squeezed lemonade. You may want to use a maple syrup to sweeten it since it will add the extra nutritional vitamins and minerals you will need while fasting. Taking some kind of multi vitamin will also help provide any critical nutrient and keep your strength up while fasting.

Make sure you do proper research before starting any fasting program. Since your body will not be used to having solid foods, you can become very sick if you do not fast properly. Having the correct amount of time to get back into normal eating is an important part to plan for.

3. Herbal supplements to aid in the fasting process might also be a good idea. Some of these you might want to try are kelp, chickweed and chlorophyll. These will assist with curbing appetite, shedding excess water and getting the bowels to move. Ten pounds of weight can be rapidly lost just by getting the bowels to move. If unsuccessful, taking many fiber supplements will do the trick!

How To Lose Belly Fat - Tips And Strategies

In this article I'm going to give you some awesome information on how to lose belly fat and after reading this you'll surely know what you need to do to slim down your stomach. Most people have the wrong idea when it comes to losing belly fat and unfortunately they end up wasting their time. To ultimately achieve success in losing weight you're going to have to look at what actually works instead of focusing on the stuff that never seems to get you any results. There aren't too many resources out there that give legitimate information on how to lose belly fat but I'm going to give you the cutting edge information that will accelerate your results.

The first thing I'm going to share with you is what you should be eating to lose weight. Most people are under the wrong impression with what they should be doing and they waste their time eating low fat diets and restricting their calorie intakes. Both of these diets have been proven to not be effective in losing belly fat but what is actually going to work is to reduce your insulin levels. This can be achieved by consuming foods which will not spike your blood sugar levels and some of these foods include grains, sugar and dairy. This is going to be more difficult than it sounds because the majority of processed foods use an abundance of them.

Not too many people know this but to lose weight it's going to be necessary to restrict your fruit intake and instead replace it with vegetables. Many of us have been taught that fruit is really good for us but in reality it's loaded with sugars which will not only cause us health problems but also cause us to put on fat. Dairy should also be restricted because it will also raise your insulin levels and if you're not willing to give up your dairy intake then you should search for raw dairy sources. The reason for this is because the raw dairy will contain more natural enzymes which help with the digestion of the food so you can maximally absorb the nutrients.

The next step to lose belly fat is going to be to stop focusing on abdominal exercises such as situps and crunches and instead focus on doing interval training. This method of working out is much more effective at fat loss because it'll accelerate your heart rate and keep your body burning fat well after you have finished working out. The hard part about this type of exercise is the higher degree of intensity that it requires and if you're not willing to put in the extra effort then you'll fail at this. But if you're serious about getting results then interval training is a highly effective answer on how to lose belly fat.

How To Manage Calories By Learning How To Diet - The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly Of Calories

The body needs calories for one major reason: life! If you were to sit in a chair and not move a muscle, your body would still require calories. The food we eat carries calories which are basically little energy factories. The beating of the heart, the digestion of food, breathing... these all require energy which comes to us in the form of calories.

What a shame that those helpful little guys called calories can also cause really big problems if there are too many of them. If there are more calories provided than are needed to run the normal activities of the body, they seek lodging, preferably in bellies and hips. And, once they're settled in, they are really difficult to evict!

The bottom line is this: if we eat more food (calories) than the body needs to perform all of its functions, we will gain weight. Therefore, it is important to give all of the calories jobs to do. In other words, make them work for their keep. Every bit of physical exercise we engage in requires calories. This includes walking, running, jogging, gardening, painting, biking, dancing, cleaning, basket-weaving...just about activity you can think of needs calories to do its work.

When we don't give each calorie we consume a job to do, we gain weight. If we prefer not to do enough physical exercise to use the calories, we need to invite fewer of them in...that is, eat less! Otherwise, we gain weight. If we use more of the calories than we have consumed, we lose weight. It's as simple as that, folks.

There are several rather simple steps we can take to help achieve the balance needed to lose weight and then to maintain the loss. For example:

• Focus on fruits and vegetables.

• Eat more whole grains.

• Eliminate sugar sweetened beverages.

• Reduce portion sizes.

• Eat healthful snacks.

• Reduce intake of fats, especially saturated fats.

• Five small meals per day (rather than three large ones).

• Drink more water.

• Incorporate physical exercise into the daily routine.

• Set reasonable goals (five pounds in two weeks)

There is no longer any question that overweight and obesity result in the development of illness and disease. Heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, cancer...all are more likely to develop if one is overweight or obese. This fact applies to children as well as to adults.

Make a commitment to yourself today that you are going to lose extra pounds. Your health depends upon it. Next year at this time can find you weighing less...or more. You decide.

Manage your caloric intake the one, smart way.

How You Can Lose Weight and Stay Healthy in the Process

According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention), obesity in adults has increased by 60% within the past twenty years and obesity in children has tripled in the past thirty years.

Some diseases which are related to overweight/obesity are cancer, stroke, diabetes, heart diseases, arthritis and hypertension (high blood pressure).

If we take care of our diet as in the amounts of food and read on labels the nutritional values of food then that goes a long way to help us lose those unwanted lbs and help us lead a better lifestyle.

Losing weight quickly is not recommended and going on these quick weight loss diets is not the answer. You may find you lose the weight quickly only to find that you will put it on twice as fast and maybe more so steer clear of these quick fixes because they just don't work.

Losing weight is a slow methodical process and has to be done right to allow your body to adjust to its new healthy lifestyle choice that you have made. The maximum safe weight loss is 2 lbs per week you may not even achieve that amount some weeks.

Let's start by saying never skip meals and especially breakfast. Eating a healthy filling breakfast gets your metabolism working so as to burn fat during the day. Your body will not tolerate you giving it insufficient food as it needs fuel to give you energy to keep you going throughout the day.

So let's just say that if you were to eat one huge sandwich in one day, this is going to defeat the purpose as it will end up straight to your problem area i.e. thighs, buttocks, hips etc. Eating 5 meals smaller per day instead of say 3 large meals in the day then your metabolism will function efficiently and burn calories quicker.

The dreaded word "diet" this isn't necessarily a bad way to lose weight, some people regard "the diet solution program" as skipping meals and not eating enough, but the way to look at the word "diet" is eating a sensible smaller nutritional meals frequently as mentioned in the previous paragraph is the way to do it.

Drinking plenty of water and that means 8 pint per day or as near to that as you can but drink water as this helps to burn calories, hydrates and keeps the cells healthy and if you haven't been drinking a lot of water previously then some of your weight around the middle could be attributed to this simple fix.

Fruit and vegetables, it is recommended that you need five of them per day, chicken, turkey, lean meat especially if the cattle have been fed on grass which would need to be purchased from a local butcher shop and not a supermarket as they will have been grain fed. Whole meals, fish especially healthy oily fish such as sardines, mackerel, salmon and fresh tuna etc, carbohydrates such as wholemeal breads, rice and pasta.

Once you have organized your eating program then to add to your weight loss regime try some exercise to speed things up. Brisk walks are great to get the heart pumping and the oxygen flowing round your body, cycling or an exercise bike. Swimming is a great way to exercise as the resistance of the water works your muscles without the same strain as say work outs in the gym.

Remember to eat healthy foods, exercise and you should see the lbs melt away every time you look into the mirror.

I Am Obsessed With That: A New Take on How to Get Motivated

So you are looking through a magazine and you see a picture of a model, competitor, idol, etc and immediately think, that's what I want to look like.

That's the body I want to achieve.

You get that funny feeling in your stomach that confirms that yes, there is no question about it. This is your new goal. Setting the goal is an awesome feeling, isn't it? You're full or energy, inspired, and ready to get to work.

But then a few weeks or months down the road, you notice your motivation has waned and you need a jumpstart to get that inspiration going again.

Here are a few things to remember when you feel yourself hitting that slump.

1. Don't be so hard on yourself. Even the people that you look up to-even that superstar in the magazine that helped you set this goal into motion in the first place-aren't perfect. No one is!

Rather than holding yourself up to unrealistic standards and pushing yourself to the point that makes this goal no fun anymore, relax a little. Take it day by day, do the best you can, and know that every challenge (i.e. mistake, slip-up, moment of questioning) is an opportunity to make yourself better.

2. Force negates, let your inspiration guide you. We all know that feeling when we think we need to do something, but we really don't want to do it, yet we force ourselves to do it anyway. Sometimes once you get going, you get into the groove, feel better and are glad you made yourself do it. But what if instead of forcing yourself in a really uncomfortable way, you got inspired first, then got to work.

Everyone talks about vision boards and setting SMART goals, but the root of it all is simply knowing why you are doing whatever it is that you are doing. When you get right down to it, you're doing it because of how you want to feel about yourself.

You want to feel strong, confident, happy, powerful, fulfilled, satisfied... whatever it is for you. If you can tap into that emotion now, it usually gets your energy going and makes you want to jump into action, toward achieving that goal. This is why vision board, favorite playlists, workout buddies, etc are so helpful... because they are an immediate outlet to this hyped-up inspired feeling.

3. Become obsessed with that feeling. You've probably heard (or said) the phrase, "I'm obsessed with that," at least once in your lifetime. If you really want to reach your goal, become obsessed with these feeling (mentioned above) that inspire you. Make it your mission to feel that way as often as you can right now.

The truth is, you don't really need to reach the goal in order to feel that way, it's just a matter of choice. Choose to look for the qualities in yourself and your life that help bring out those good feeling right now. Make lists of things in your life that help you to feel these emotions. Specifically look for reasons to feel empowered, strong, satisfied and you'd be surprised at how quickly those feelings show up and jolt you with ideas, energy, and inspiration to get moving.

We sort of have it backwards, thinking that we've got to accomplish this certain thing and then we'll feel worthy of feeling good about ourselves. We've confused ourselves about goal-setting and have forgotten that the real reason to set a goal isn't to achieve it, but rather because it's just fun to challenge ourselves!

Become obsessed with feeling powerful, strong, happy, etc right now in this moment, as you continue to challenge yourself to greater and greater heights.

You don't have to change one thing about yourself in order to be whole and worthy of feeling awesome.

4. Realize that once you reach this goal, you're going to almost immediately set another. This is why it's so important to not set up the expectation that once you get "there" then you'll feel happy, satisfied, fulfilled, strong, etc because you'll always want more. There is no such thing as enough, and that's ok because that's just how we are wired.

That's a big part of what life is about and why people are always saying that it's a journey-because it's not about crossing the finish line, it's about experiencing all the adventure along the way. The sooner you can convince yourself of this, the more comfortable and fun the road to achieving your goals (and your life) will be.

Learn How to Lose Weight in 2 Weeks With Ease

Many people struggle with learning how to lose weight in 2 weeks. The internet is saturated with misleading and contradicting information that leaves the audience frustrated and confused. One website will claim a specific principle is essential to your success, while another site will condemn that same strategy.

By presenting you with the best advice in a simple fashion, I have eliminated the potential for confusion. I have personally tested and had great success with each concept described. With the correct information you can lose weight in 2 weeks with ease.

Motivation is a major component of your success. When you are highly motivated, no obstacle can stand in your way. It can be tempting to skip a workout or cheat on your diet, but strong motivation will help you push past any doubts.

Keeping a fitness journal is an excellent strategy to increase your motivation. Tracking your workouts, meals, and emotions allows you to keep tabs on your progress and make adjustments on the go. It is very difficult to deviate from your eating plan when you make it a rule to record everything you eat. No one wants to write down that they indulged on sweets or a pizza when they are working hard to lose weight in 2 weeks.

Preparation is another key strategy to increase your motivation and improve your results. Excuses are not allowed to exist when you are adequately prepared. Schedule your workouts for the week in advance. Preparing meals in advance is also important and will help you follow your diet with ease. Life can be unstable at times. Crises will pop up and make sticking to the plan a challenge. When circumstances become difficult, strong preparation will help you stay on your path.

Now that you understand the importance of motivation, it is time to investigate the principles of a weight loss diet plan. Your diet accounts for 80% of your results. The internet is saturated with fad diets that do more harm than good. It is important to follow a healthy diet that is effective, but you should never feel like you are being punished.

I have had the best results by limiting my carbohydrate intake. An abundance of fibrous vegetables and a small selection of fruits will be your main carbohydrate source on this diet. Limiting your carbohydrate intake will greatly increase the amount of fat you burn in the next two weeks. A fantastic fat loss diet plan will consist of lean proteins, healthy fats, and some fruits. We're limiting fruit intake for the next two weeks to keep your overall carb intake low. Fruits are very healthy, and I'm an enormous fan of eating fruit, but for the purpose of losing weight fast, we're going to eliminate every fruit aside from blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries for the next two weeks.

A smartly planned workout will be the final factor in promoting extreme fat loss. Lifting weights is vital for a weight loss workout. The benefits of lifting weights are endless. You will burn far more calories by lifting weights than following any other workout program. You will also boost your metabolism, resulting in even more calories burned. Don't fret if you have little weight lifting experience, because I am going to outline each exercise in detail.

My Story - How an Acai Berry Diet Changed My Life

I am sure that you have been hearing a lot of stories about the effectiveness of the acai berry diet when it comes to weight loss, right? However, as a smart consumer, you just don't want to rely on the things that you have been hearing about this "super fruit". Well, to tell you honestly, I was once in your shoe when I was looking out for something that can help me with my weight problems that has been my lifelong problem since the time I have given birth to my youngest child.

This is my story how I lost 30 pounds in just a matter of few months. I think if my calculations are right, it only took me 5 months to regain the kind of figure I once had when I was younger.

We all know that after giving birth, the extra fat that a woman has accumulated through the 9 months of pregnancy will not shed off just as that. It will stay in your body for as long as it could, and if you are not going to do something about it, the bulging tummy, fat thighs and legs, huge arms and enormous behind will always be there forever. I didn't want that to happen, but I was also hoping to have another kind of diet that is easy yet effective to my goal of losing weight. I don't want to end up starving myself again just like what I did when I had my first child. I was desperately wanting to tone down my body weight and fit in my regular size jeans again, that is why I ended up eating extra small proportions of unsavory foods.

Anyway, after giving birth to my second child, my body has accumulated more fat than what I had during my first pregnancy. I was worried because I felt uneasy all the time and I know that I don't have enough energy most of the time because I cannot sustain playing with my eldest while tending my newborn. I knew from that moment that I really have to do something with my body.

I tried to make a research online about the best and healthiest diet I can take which is natural and safe for breastfeeding moms. I stumbled on one article saying about the good things about the super fruit - acai berry. After reading amazing testimonial about the said fruit, I didn't hesitated to purchase a bottle and started with my own acai berry diet.

Here are my comments about the results of my acai berry diet:

1. The kind of diet did not make it hard for me - it was very easy to follow, which is perfect because at that time, my hands are all tied up with the kids. I surely don't have enough time for my own leisure.
2. It's all natural. This is again perfect for me because I was breastfeeding. I can't afford to take any kind of chemical inside my body.
3. I was able to prove for myself that it is indeed effective! I lost 30 pounds in just 5 months.

And to top it all, I felt that more energized and my body is healthier than ever. I feel rejuvenated in and out. This magical fruit is highly recommended!

The acai berry diet was proven by many to work wonders in their bodies. When it comes to the numerous health benefits of it, no one can ever doubt the super fruit's capability of having a healthier and leaner body in no time.

However, many are still asking if it's possible to see any kind of negativity the fruit can have. In one way or another, every product available must always have its own set of pros and cons right? So what do we have when it comes to the ever so famous acai berry diet?

Here are the list of the pros and cons of the super fruit.

Pros:

• The fruit is proven to be effective in improving one's body.
• Contains a lot of healthy nutrients needed by our body.
• The nutrients inside the fruit cannot only aid diseases, but to prevent them as well.
• It can cure even the deadliest cancer cells of leukemia - according to the University of Florida.
• Perfect product to take in order to lose weight.
• Can help in building muscle.
• Great for body detoxification because the fruit is high in antioxidants.
• Prevents aging
• Aids for the proper function of all primary organs.

Cons:

• If you are buying the fresh fruit, it rots easily. But I don't think this will be a problem if you store them in air tight containers and place them inside the refrigerator. You may also freeze the berries or you can just go ahead and purchase the capsule form.

That's the end of the con's part. Actually, a lot of us writers of the acai berry diet are trying to think if there really is something negative out of trying to use the super fruit as part of your daily meal. But for me, the only disadvantage I can think of, if you want to try the acai berry diet is just about the freshness of the fruit, and that's it! You have ways to preserve it and that takes out the only disadvantage I have listed in this article. Other than that, the super fruit proves to show more advantages than the disadvantages.

Try it now, and see how it can work wonders in your life as well. You will never have to worry about taking multiple food supplements anymore just to get the nutrition your body needs, because all of the necessary vitamins and minerals that you will be needing in order to keep you body in tip top condition will all be inside the magical fruit.

No need to neither work on complicated diets nor follow extreme work outs just to have the results that you wanted like having a leaner body and healthy body. You also don't have to worry that you might be taking harsh chemicals that may harm you, especially your kidneys - because this is a natural way of dieting. And most of all, you don't have to worry about the cost because you don't have to spend too much on gym memberships or expensive diet pills.

Natural Solutions to Lose Weight Fast Without Pills

Do you wish there was a magic pill that would help you lose weight fast without pills? Have you seen commercials that promise a weight loss pill that works without you doing anything different? Have you tried weight loss pills but they just didn't work? Are you turned off by the idea of taking any kind of pills and want a natural solution to weight loss? Here is some good information if you are wondering how to go about losing weight without pills or wonder if weight loss pills even work.

Do Pills Work?

First of all, let's look at some facts about weight loss pills. Pushing aside the hype, are there pills that actually work and make you lose weight? If there are, do they have negative side effects that make them dangerous and not worth the risk? Well, one FDA approved pill in an OTC form is called Alli. It works by having more of your fat intake processed through your bowels. However, the gastrointestinal side effects can be very unpleasant so the company that manufactures the product advises to lower your fat intake. If you lower your fat intake, you don't need this pill. There are other pills you can take as well, and all of them advocate a healthy diet and exercise for the pill to be fully effective. So here is the conclusion: if you need to diet and change your diet to low fat and healthy foods, why would anyone spend money to take a pill and experience unpleasant side effects when all you need to do is change your diet and exercise with no pills and no side effects? Use common sense, pills are not the answer and there is no pill that takes the place of exercise and healthy diet habits.

There have been pills in the past that worked because they increased metabolism and prompted people to maintain a high level of activity. However, these types of pills have been taken off of the market because they are unhealthy and even resulted in death.

Cardio and Core Exercises

In order to burn fat you need to burn calories. To burn calories you need to increase your metabolic rate to lose weight fast without pills or other artificial aids. Consult your trainer for a good comprehensive cardio program that fits with your age, your weight loss goals and your current physical condition. You'll not only lose weight but be pleasantly surprised at the increased energy and endurance you'll achieve.

Skip the Sauna

Contrary to popular belief, you can't sweat your way to fast weight loss. You can reduce body weight temporarily by eliminating excess fluids, but in reality a healthy diet includes drinking healthy amounts of water to help keep your body hydrated. That is important for general health including healthy skin, hair and nails. So, getting into the sauna will not be a solution for sustained healthy weight loss.

If you want to lose weight fast without pills there really are no easy shortcuts regardless of what the drug companies would have you believe. Healthy, sustained weight loss will require you to adopt and maintain a regimen of exercise and healthy diet habits.

Natural Supplements in Weight Loss

There has been so much concern about obesity in the western society due to stress, busy lifestyle, heavy work and tiredness. Binge eating, eating wrong type of foods, and eating food other than home-made food were some of the causes for heavy weight gain. There are several ways and means that were planned by many people all over the world for losing weight. It is important for the individual to choose the weight program that suits to their lifestyle and their body's tolerance levels. But it was studied properly and concluded that dieting is not the healthy way of losing weight. Eating balanced diet accompanied by regular exercise can boost up the rate of reduction and enhance the rate of metabolism. This is the best way of losing weight in a healthy manner.

There are certain herbal or natural supplements that are suggested to be part of our diet to lose weight healthily. The following are the natural herbs that are used in weight loss.

1. Bitter Orange or Citrus aurantium: This herb is known to consist of beta antagonists. The beta antagonists are found to be responsible for fat loss in the body and in increasing the metabolism. But this natural supplement has to be used in combination with other dietary elements and exercise to help in weight reduction. This has to be used with doctor's advice when the person has heart disease or high blood pressure. Though some studies have told its significance in weight loss not much work has been done on this herb in its involvement in weight loss. The Chinese medical records say that the rind of the immature fruit of bitter orange can be used for helping in problems related to indigestion.

2. Hoodia gordonii: This herb is available as a succulent plant in the desert regions of South Africa. This plant which is traditionally called Xhoba is used as an appetite suppressant. This is used as a food choice during long journeys in order to satisfy the stomach with less food. This herb is supposed to help in weight loss by suppressing the appetite, by reducing the blood glucose, and by reducing the storage of fat.

3. Coleus forskohlii: This herb is known to aid in loss of weight by removing the fat deposits and stopping the synthesis of adipose tissue. It is also known to trigger the metabolism by involving in enhancement of functioning of thyroid gland. This plant extract consists of a compound that can stimulate the Adenylate Cyclase enzyme. This will follow the stimulation of cyclic AMP that will help in raising the metabolism rate which leads to weight loss.

4. Green tea (camellia sinensis), Ephedra (Ephedra sinica) and Guarana (Paullinia cupana) are found to be playing significant part in weight loss.

5. Guggul or Commiphora mukul: This plant is observed to be involved in decreasing the cholesterol levels.

6. Guar gum: The fiber based dietary supplement obtained from the bean of the plant. The scientific name of the plant is called Cyamopsis tetragonolobus.

7. Garcina cambogia: The main ingredient of this herb is hydroxy citric acid. This herb has the ability to suppress appetite and decrease the ability of the body to create adipose tissue because of eating heavily. This plant is known to carry out its action in weight loss process by blocking the conversion of carbohydrates into fat in the body.

8. The other herbs that help in enhancing the metabolism, suppress hunger and indirect weight loss involvement respectively are Ilex paraguariensis (Yerba Mate), Spirulina (blue green algae) and Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort).

Natural Weight Loss Tip 2 - Eat More Legumes (Beans)

Legumes and beans should be a healthy staple of any natural weight loss diet. Here are several reasons why legumes are so healthy and can help contribute to weight loss:

1. Legumes contain a lot of healthy fibers

Eating more fiber is a key to natural weight loss. Fiber helps your body cleanse itself, removing waste and cleaning out your digestive system. Since the average person has over 10 pounds of feces stuck in their digestive system, a lot of people will notice rapid weight loss just simply by increasing their fiber. As they become more regular, the eliminate this excess waste, giving them more energy, better digestion, natural weight loss and many other benefits.

Eating extra fiber also helps reduce your risk for colon cancer and other digestive disorders. So eating more legumes and beans is a great way to improve your health naturally and lose weight at the same time.

2. Legumes are high in healthy proteins

Legumes are high in healthy proteins which burn less efficiently than fat or carbohydrates, so you can consume more of these healthy proteins and lose weight compared to eating lots of carbs or fats. The key of course, is balance, combined with eating healthy, natural foods. Beans are missing an essential amino acid so that's why most people combine beans with rice (whole brown rice preferably - you'll want to avoid all white and processed grains and starches to avoid weight gain).

3. Legumes are a great substitute for meat

Legumes and beans high in protein and are a great substitute for meats. Instead of eating a steak burrito for dinner, just make a healthy bean burrito instead. Instead of a roast beef, try making a healthy, delicious bean salad with chickpeas and a variety of vegetables and spices. If you do a quick google search online, you can find thousands of healthy and delicious bean recipes.

Substituting beans for meat will give you more of these healthy plant-based proteins, reduce your unhealthy saturated fat intake, and reduce your exposure to the toxins, pesticides, antibiotics and hormones found in conventional meats. This is a huge key for weight loss! Fat is the body's natural defense system for many of these toxins and pesticides (which are concentrated in meats due to bioconcentration). Fat is where the body stores these toxins that it can't break down, away from your vital organs where they do less damage. The problem is that with so much of these toxins, your body cannot release the fat without simultaneously releasing these toxins. So it's vital that you reduce your toxin intake as well as eat the healthy fruits, vegetables, berries and legumes which are the right antioxidants and enzymes to help your body eliminate these toxins.

Here's a list of some of the most commonly known legumes:

Alfalfa
Clover
Chickpeas (also called Garbanzo beans)
Peas
Beans (kidney beans, adzuki beans, etc.)
Lentils
Lupins
Mesquite
Carob
Soy
Peanuts

Start adding more of these healthy legumes to your diet and you'll be able to maintain a healthy weight by eating a healthy, natural diet.

Need To Lose A Lot Of Weight? When You Learn The Correct Diet, You Will Succeed

If you need to lose weight... even a large amount of weight... take heart! Recent studies have shown that a weight loss of even five to ten percent of your current weight significantly reduces your risk of heart disease and diabetes. Let's say you weight 250 pounds and your ideal weight according to health charts is 130 pounds. So, you have been advised to lose 120 pounds. Now that is enough to discourage anybody.

However, suppose you were told to lose between 12 and 25 pounds. Does that sound like something you would be able to do? Let me answer for you... yes! Oftentimes folks get downright discouraged because the amount of weight they've been advised to lose is "off the wall". How can you deal with losing more than one hundred pounds? (I'll answer that too... you lose 100 pounds one ounce at a time as surely as you travel from New Jersey to California one mile at a time.)

Once you have lost five to ten percent of your weight you will benefit in two ways:

1. You will lower your risk of obesity-related diseases

2. You will know that you can indeed lose weight and you will be motivated to lose another five to ten percent.

So, how are you going to approach the needed weight loss? There are several steps:

• Consult with your doctor first. He will be able to tell you how much weight you need to lose, and how fast you can expect to lose it. Typically a realistic goal is one to three pounds per week. That may seem like a small amount in the beginning. But, think of this; if you go on a crash diet and lose more weight faster, it's not going to last, and the weight will come back, with a vengeance.

• Keep a positive attitude. If you lose two pounds per week, in one month you will have lost eight pounds. Keep that up and imagine how you will look a few months down the road. Work to a goal for a future event: Christmas, high school reunion, your son's wedding.

• Ask the doctor (or nurse or dietitian) to provide you with a written food plan which will give you guidelines as to how you should eat. For example, increase your intake of fruits and vegetables, reduce your portion sizes, eliminate sugary beverages, switch to whole grain products (breads, cereals, pasta).

• Increase your daily activity... walk, use the stairs, play with the kids, walk the dog. Try to think movement throughout your day... get in motion whenever you can.

Plan today to get started. Weigh yourself and aim to lose 2-3 pound per week for at least 4 weeks, (to re-stabilize your metabolism).

The first step is always the most important. Just getting started is the most difficult; so Start Right Now!

Obese? Did You Know That Kids Are 10 Times More Likely To Be Fat If Parents Are Overweight?

Obesity describes a bodily condition in which weight is greater than has been established to be necessary for the maintenance of good health. Further, the accumulated weight is composed of a much higher percentage of fat than is healthy for us. The obese person likely is dissatisfied with his or her appearance as well.

These conditions affect children (of fat parents) 10 times more than kids of (non-overweight parents). Do you ever wonder if these non-overweight people know some secret that you don't know?

Obesity and overweight are calculated in part by a measurement called BMI which stands for body mass index which evaluates the weight in view of one's height. When the BMI is determined to be between 25 and 30, one is considered to be overweight. If the BMI is greater than 30 an adult is diagnosed as being obese. A BMI of 40 or beyond is called morbid obesity and typically means that the person has a hundred pounds or more to lose.

Genetic factors affect one's tendency toward weight gain as well as body structure. Even more significant are environmental factors. If parents are overweight their children are ten times more likely than their peers to be overweight. Lifestyle habits also play a part... frequent dining out, excessive portion sizes, sugary drinks, and junk food. An occasional cause of modest excess weight (5-10 pounds) may be due to a chemical disorder or hormonal imbalance such as hypothyroidism. Inadequate exercise and sedentary lifestyle contribute in large part to excess weight.

In addition to the BMI, the physician may do a test called measure skin fold to assess underlying fat. He may do blood tests to eliminate bodily causes of overweight. For example, underlying heart or kidney disease may cause weight gain in which event the weight is probably a result of water retention. These condition are not common causes of excess weight.

So, you come out of the doctor's office with a diagnosis of overweight or even obesity. Now what? Excess weight results from eating too much and exercising too little. Both of these problems are relatively easy to deal with but one must be armed with a bit of self-discipline and reasonable expectations.

Remember...at all times...that the weight did not accumulate suddenly nor is it going to disappear suddenly. It collected one pound, one ounce, at a time and that is the only way it will go away. Often well-intentioned folks attempt to lose in one month weight that has accumulated over ten years. This will not work...ever. Crash diets may indeed show a fast loss of weight according to the scale. This is most likely water loss that will be regained as soon as the diet is ended.

The only approach to healthful weight loss is a combination of reduced intake of "normal" foods and an exercise program that is workable with one's lifestyle.

Here's a tip to get you started: stop drinking sugary pop TODAY!

Obesity and Self Esteem

Why does obesity exist (when not caused by medical problems)? This question has been asked by many in the medical and psychiatric profession worldwide.

The reason obesity exists is in all honesty very simple. If it is not caused by a medical condition, it is because folk have eating disorders such as eating too much, not eating enough, eating in an unhealthy fashion, bingeing or stuffing themselves. Comfort eating, eating high-calorie foods, eating too much fast food - there is an abundance of cheap food available. Then there is the mind of the person. The mind is a great controller of an individual's emotions and how they see themselves, and it can create low self-esteem.

The advancement of technology has produced televisions, game consoles and the computer. These all entail sitting positions, so if the person works in an office he or she is sitting down, and when they get home they are sitting down. What exercise did they get during the day? Just to walk to the toilet or the canteen at break time. Oh they ate where? Ah yes, in a fast food outlet. No wonder there is an obesity epidemic. The world community is geared up to be obese, and it all began in the 40s. Since then mankind has poisoned the ground, the rivers, the lakes, the sky, the very air we breathe.

Each piece of food we eat has come into contact with some kind of food enhancer or preservative, and none of this is good for the human body. When you're sitting in the comfort of your home watching all these adverts for food from all the high street fast food chains try to remember they have known of this poisoning since the 40s and they did not tell you. Their food is truly poison to your insides. Just look at the rise in cancer. When did it begin to become so prevalent? Yes in the late 40s, and now one in three people will experience some form of cancer in their life due to the neglect of governments who should have been looking after their people's welfare.

It is time to sort out this childhood and adult obesity problem, and begin a program of education for parents, schools and any organization dealing with obesity. There is no time to lose. It is very important to note that the loss to production caused by obesity last year worldwide was $300 billion. Add to that the cost of health services, and the figure is a mind boggling $575 billion.

It is time to avoid all processed foods as they are too high in calories and preservatives. Do not allow your children to eat in any fast food outlet.

Take responsibility for your children's health and take the same responsibility for your own health; lead by example. I believe that the majority of obese people can be helped to lead healthy lifestyles by proper diet plans and an exercise routine which begins easily and gets more effective as time goes by. It is very true to say that if you're obese there is only one way to stay healthy and that's to have a mind-changing attitude, and if you have a God in your life then use that God to assist you. Also, it is a fact that once you have become obese, fat or overweight, you need a daily program of healthy living to keep off the weight, and if you relax on your program the weight will go back on. So be aware of this and don't let it happen to you. You're worth more. Be good to yourself and help yourself to gain a healthier lifestyle, starting now.

Oliver Brendan Greene was diagnosed with obesity about eight years ago after fighting a weight issue for more than fifteen years. His weight issues began when he became a little overweight, but thought it was nothing too serious. He later became fat and this deteriorated into clinical obesity a few years later. After a very serious illness and near loss of his life in 2008, Greene became determined to lose the weight. At this time, he faced the facts of his laziness and unhealthy lifestyle and made a decision to change.

His website, the-menace-of-obesity.com tells his story of gaining and losing weight. It conveys the ideas and measures that were needed to overcome the menace of being fat, obese or overweight. His mental attitude and zest for life will inspire anyone in their own fight against the menace of obesity.
